Dismantling... the name says it all
In this department, AC and DC motors and generators are carefully dismantled and inspected; after this, one or more of the following (overhaul) activities is carried out:
- cleaning
- measuring of (sleeve) bearing tolerances
- renewal of sleeve bearings and scraping to size
- undercutting of the commutators and bevelling
- repair of slip ring bodies
- overhaul of brush holders and slip ring holders
- soldering and welding
- sheet metal work and rebuilding
- overhaul or repair
